Welcome Letter

WGO Meet and Speak group shot

Welcome! The Women and Gender Center (WGC) was founded in Fall 2018 with the location in the new Main Campus Student Center opening in January 2019. The WGC was founded as a result of the leadership, dedication, and hard work of various campus constituents for several years including the former Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Women, Gender Studies, Student Involvement & Leadership, students, and many other campus constituents. We are thrilled to positively impact ECU through our guiding values of advocacy, celebration, and education as we strive to cultivate an environment where all Pirates are welcome, valued, and heard.

I invite you to join us during this exciting time by getting involved. There are a variety of opportunities for students, faculty and staff to make their mark in the office and on campus. Please visit our Get Involved page for more details.
